It still requires a more "gentle" hand to aim then many planes, but it's workable after a bit of practice. On the P-39 specifically, which is incredibly sensitive, 0.8 control multiplier and 1.7 non linearity for pitch. I use generally speaking 1.3 nonlinearity, full sensitivity (except on rudder where it's about half) and 1.0 control multiplier. You don't need to use manual engine management to fly with full controls, so don't be afraid of that. Trim the plane so it flies level at cruise speed, and you fly without slip. Remember, gentle movements and listen to the plane, if you are turning "with trails", you are close to stall (and are bleeding speed massively, too). Edited Februby _Fallen_įind control settings which work for you and practice. Joysticks are EXTREMELY hard to setup, but once you get them right. If you want help setting up your joystick send me a PM. *WARNING* Full Real Controls is like simple/realistic on crack, with 1 finger on the BIG RED BUTTON that everyone says you shouldn't push. Simplified, and Realistic modes still rely on the use of instructor. It gives you accessability to trimming and engine management. If you want full control USE full control. Word of advice, don't try to out aim a mouse user. Welcome to the real world of flying a plane. Program a button for trim in full aircraft controlsĪdvice for starting with joystick: Fly the tutorial (yes, it is torture and pain and really badly made) if you can make it through the tutorials with joystick you should be ok.Īlso practice in custom battles, against AI or get some friends. I just want my planes to stop climbing all by themselves. You don't have to by default, just don't program them to a button ![]() I don't want to have to deal with every single damned thing on the engine, radiator, supercharger, magnetos, damn.ĭon't. I'll give this a week, maybe two, but wow, it's just murder.Īlso, wtf is with no trim controls in simplified joystick (I guess thats what mode it's called.) I'm far worse and I am an avid flight simmer and RL pilot :D Practice, practice, more practice, and luck. The i16 is easier to fly than the i15, but how the hell do you guys do it? How do you line up your shots? I started a new game account to do only RB with joystick.
